PP to Have World-Class University Hospital
The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to build the first international-standard University of Health Sciences Hospital in Kob Srov area, in the western part of Phnom Penh capital at a cost of US$80 million.
Mr. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health, and Mr. Kim Hoon, representative of Inje Joint Venture, the firm that has won bidding for the construction, discussed the University of Health Sciences Hospital project on Nov. 22.
Of the total budget, US$66 million is a loan from Korean Bank and the rest is from the government, Ms. Youk Sambath, the ministry’s Secretary of State, told reporters upon the meeting.
The University of Health Sciences Hospital, the first-ever large hospital in Cambodia is for teaching students and providing medical services to Cambodian people and foreigners.
The hospital is to be built on more than 2 hectares of land in Kob Srov area.
