Five More Cambodian Banana Packaging Companies Allowed to Export to China
The Chinese Customs Administration recently decided to allow Sing He Yi Agriculture Co., Ltd. and another five agricultural companies to export banana in Cambodia to Chinese market.
According to a recent Facebook post by the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, there are currently 15 registered banana plantations in Cambodia, with more than 8,000 hectares of banana plantations and twenty-one packaging factories have greatly improved the processing capacity, export patterns and competitiveness of banana crops in the Kingdom.
In the first semester of 2020, Cambodia’s banana exports amounted to more than 140,000 tons, valued at more than US$68 million, the Ministry of Commerce said.
