Cambodia earns $70 million by issuing exclusive customized vehicle licence plates
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport earned $70 million from the sale of special license plates from September 2016 to February 2022.
The figure was shared by Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport at the launching ceremony of the Motor Vehicle Technical Inspection Centre (Pursenchey-Odem branch) and the Second Generation Automated Vehicle Inspection System (techinspection.mpwt.gov.kh) in Phnom Penh.
The income from the special licence plate sale in 2021 was $16.8 million, an increase of about 9 percent compared to 2020, he said.
