Kratie farmers ecstatic over success of greenhouse farming

In another victory for the Cambodian agricultural sector, Kratie’s farmers saw a success and great crop yield due to their application of greenhouse farming techniques.

Farmers in Kratie successfully cultivated cauliflowers and cabbages in their greenhouses in a bid to increase crop yield and improve the quality of their crops. Farmers touted the benefits of greenhouse farming such as the reduced use of fertilizers, the ability to grow crops without regard of the season, and the ease of growing crops.

A resident of Phsot Krom Village, Phsot Commune, Prek Prosop District, Kratie, Ho Pros, told the National Radie of Cambodia that the provincial department of Agriculture provided materials for building greenhouses and training to local farmers. According to Pros, he has been growing his crops of cauliflowers and cabbages in the greenhouses for the past 3 years to great success.

He continued that due to the high success of both quality and success of his crops, he was able to get good profit from them. Due to the large net profit he earned, Pros stated that he was able to expand his greenhouse. Khmer Times/AKP
