The Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Cybercrime Department called on the public who are using online games on Facebook to use proper language when sharing their game invitations.

The Anti-Cybercrime Department said it has received many queries regarding the online games on Facebook known as, Jumpy Jumpy and Lyto Different Color.

It said, the games which were created as instant games for Facebook, means users can find and play these games directly in News Feed or Messenger, on both desktop and their mobile devices without having to install any application.

The department, however, has noted that many users in the last few days are sharing their game invitations to the public with improper language or wording to attract others. Some users said, in invitation posts received, the following words were used including- “please return money you owe me”, “those in this profile picture is my wife” etc.

The postings have angered users who are unaware of these instant games.

“The Anti-Cybercrime Department would like to ask all gamers to stop adding improper words to avoid misconceptions about the games,” the statement said adding that users can report the posts from Jumpy Jumpy and Lyto Different Color game to Facebook Admin to ban these games.

As an immediate measure, users should remove these instant games from their own Facebook to avoid receiving future posts from them.

According to MPTC’s Telecommunication Regulator Cambodia (TRC), there were 8.8 million Facebook accounts registered in Cambodia at the end of 2019.
