Myanmar Military Airstrikes Near Thai Border as Clashes Intensify in Karen State
Mae Sot, Tak Province, 25 September 2025 — The Royal Thai Army’s Special Task Force has reported ongoing clashes between Myanmar military forces and resistance groups in Myawaddy, Karen State, directly opposite Ban Mai Mae Kone Ken village in Mae Sot District, Tak Province.
At approximately 4:00 PM on 25 September, the Myanmar military deployed two YAK-130 fighter aircraft to carry out airstrikes on areas surrounding Le Kae Ko and Ti Mae Wa Kee villages, about five kilometers from the Thai border.
The situation remains tense, with both sides continuing to position forces and exchange intermittent fire. Thai authorities, however, confirmed that there has been no impact on the Thai side of the border to date.
