The western section of Trapeang Phong temple has been completely restored
Trapeang Phong temple is a brick temple located in Kok Srok village, Rolous commune, Prasat Bakong district, Siem Reap province. The temple was built in the mid-9th century by King Jayavarman III dedicated to Hinduism. Due to weather, age, and human factors, this temple is very dilapidated.
Mr. Saray Kim Huol, Archaeologist and Conservation Officer of APSARA National Authority, said the team had begun restoring the western section of Trapeang Phong temple in early 2021and had fully restored in September 2021.
He added that although the restoration work has been completed, the team will conduct daily maintenance at the temple, and there is a plan to restore other parts of the temple later.
Trapeang Phong is a single brick temple, 7 meters square, 16 meters high. This temple was restored and excavated once in 1936 by EFEO.
