In order to raise the value and strengthen the structure of the temple, APSARA National Authority has been restoring and strengthening the southwest corner structure of the third terrace of the Bayon temple from the beginning of 2021 and this project has been successfully completed.
Ms. Meng Sovanlylin, Architect of the Department of Conservation of Monuments in Angkor Park and Archeological Prevention, said that during the restoration process, the team focused on strengthening the wall of the terrace and the soil quality of the foundation. In this work, the team also used some new stones to replace the old ones that were damaged.
