On the morning of 30 June 2021, the APSARA National Authority, represents by Mr. Long Kosal, Deputy Director General of APSARA National Authority, along with Mr.Pak Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, and H.E Mr. Sudirman Haseng, Ambassador of the Republic Indonesia to Cambodia join the the Batik-Kroma Fun Bike program, which is a joint programme organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. The ride has the objective to improve the bond of solidarity between the two countries as well as increase cultural and tourism activities.

Mr. Sudirman Haseng, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Cambodia, said that the cycling event aims to maintain and enhance relations between the two governments. At the same time, this cycling is also to increase cultural and tourism promotion from each other.

In addition, the Ambassador is optimistic that this cycling event will be a good example for the beginning of the resurgence of fighting against the difficult situation in the Covid -19 pandemic.

Mr. Pak Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, praised the event for showing Cambodia’s past as well as its cultural connectivities between Cambodia and Indonesia. The cycling event in Siem Reap is not a coincidence, as the city has been designated as the ASEAN’s city of culture for 2021-2022.
