Sofitel Angkor Shortlisted in Haute Grandeur Awards

Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort in Siem Reap made it to the shortlist of one of the most prestigious awards in the global hotel industry.

“Sofitel Angkor was shortlisted in six categories (Best MICE Hotel, Best Spa Hotel, Best Family Resort, Best Golf Resort, Best Resort Services, and Most Unique Guest Experience) of the Haute Grandeur Global Hotel Awards 2020. It was among four hotels and resorts in Cambodia that made it to the shortlist.” The Sarai Resort & Spa in Siem Reap and Song Saa Private Island off Sihanoukville made it to the shortlist in other categories, so did Shinta Mani Wild, a multi-awarded rainforest retreat in the Cardamon Mountains. Located just a few minutes away from Angkor Wat, Sofitel Angkor is a five-star hotel that “combines French sophistication and yesteryear refinement”.

The hotel features a stunning landscape and is composed of 238 rooms and suites, a high-end golf course, a swimming pool, and other amenities. The shortlist for the awards, which come in 90 categories, listed some of the most well-known names in the global hotel industry, including Aman Resorts in Singapore, Amanpulo in the Philippines, Armani Hotel Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Ashford Castle in the United Kingdom, Belmond Copacabana palace in Brazil, Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Conrad Bora Bora Nui in French Polynesia.

“We are proud to be shortlisted for a 2020 Haute Grandeur Global Awards based on overall excellence,” the hotel posted on its Facebook page.

The organizers for the awards have yet to disclose the exact date for the announcement of winners. In the past, the gala dinner and award ceremonies were usually held towards the end of the year. The Haute Grandeur Global Hotel Awards have been staged every year since 2014. Their purpose is to recognize the very best hotels and related establishments in the world.

Unlike other major awards in the hospitality industry, detailed guest feedback determines the winners in the Haute Grandeur Awards. The feedback is taken from renowned platforms such as Agoda, TripAdvisor, Facebook, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Google+, Yelp.com, AsiaRooms, Hotelchatter, Orbitz and others. The guest feedback covers several factors, including rooms, food service, overall hotel facilities, price, ambiance, bar and beverages, location, grounds, internet availability, corporate social responsibility, efficiency, wellness areas, and environmental participation.
