Kesor Kol Sok An Phnom Kulen Research and Conservation Centre is expanding its yard for Kesor Kol park (Orchid flower park) to 2,000 hectares to attract tourists and trading, benefiting national development.

The update was shared with reporters by Mr. Sun Kong, President of Siem Reap Provincial Environment Department in Siem Reap province.

Mr Sun Kong continued that in the future, the 2,000-hectare orchid center will not only be a flower research center, but also a trading and recreational site.

As part of the expansion, the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with concerned institutions will establish coffee and souvenir shops and a plant park.

After that, there will be initiatives for flower conservation and planting, the creation of attraction sites, and beyond.

According to Mr Sun Kong, the Kesor Kol Sok An Phnom Kulen Research and Conservation Centre was established to preserve Cambodian forest orchid seeds, and now there are over 500 species in the park.
