Phnom Penh, September 30, 2025 – Chargé d’Affaires Bridgette Walker announced that the United States will provide an additional $675,000 to support Cambodia’s vital demining work. This new contribution builds on America’s longstanding partnership with Cambodia, making the United States the largest demining donor to the country. Since 1993, the U.S. has contributed more than $220 million, including $12 million in 2025 alone, to help Cambodian families live and thrive in peace.

The U.S. Embassy expressed appreciation to its partners, the Norwegian People’s Aid and the Cambodian Mine Action Center, for their tireless efforts to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance. Ms. Walker also thanked the Technical Institute for Mine Action for providing valuable insights during a recent visit with U.S. Representatives Adam Smith, Michael Baumgartner, and Chrissy Houlahan, highlighting the extraordinary work required to prepare demining teams.

“The United States remains deeply committed to supporting Cambodia on its path to becoming mine free,” Ms. Walker said.
