The technicians of the APSARA National Authority starts restoring the northern part of the west gate of the Banteay Kdei temple, which is in very bad condition.
According to the damaged condition of the temple, the restoration work requires applying the Anastylosis technique, which is to completely rearrange the stones to strengthen the foundation, the relevant structures, restore the broken stones, and reassemble the gate by retaining its original state. This restoration work takes at least two years.
