PM Urges for Cooperation in Process of Cambodia Economic Census 2022

Prime Minister of Cambodia called on all economic organisations including companies, factories, public and private enterprises, handicrafts, wholesale and retail businesses and service providers to join the Cambodia economic census 2022.

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen made the appeal in his recent message to officially launch the Economic Census of Cambodia 2022 from Mar. 1 to 31, 2022.

This economic census 2022 will be the second of its kind for Cambodia, as the first one was in 2011, but Cambodia also conducted an enterprise census interval survey in 2014.

The economic census is a crucial work for the nation, underlined the Premier, explaining that it is indispensable primary data needed for economic organisations.

It will be the main inputs for policy development on socio-economy, environment and people’s welfare, and serves as indicators of sustainable development goals 2016-2030, he continued.

According to H.E. Chhay Than, Minister of Planning, in 2021 there were a total of 743,532 economic entities throughout Cambodia which was an increase of about 47 percent compared with the 2011 data. AKP
