Koh Kong’s Dara Sakor International Airport to be opened for test run later this year
The construction of Dara Sakor International Airport in Koh Kong is to be completed in the next month and will a test run of the airport will be launched later towards the end of the year.
The Dara Sakor International Airport is developed by the Chinese company Tianjin Union Development Group (UDG) with an investment of $350 million. The airport is reported to be able to service long-haul aircrafts such as Boeing-777 and Airbus A340. The airport is spread over a sprawling plot of land measuring up to 4.5 hectares in Botum Sakor District. The construction is part of a multi-billion-dollar Chinese development plan of Dara Sakor Resort.
The Minister of the Secretariat of Civil Aviation, Mao Havannal, announced this during a visit of the representatives of Dara Sakor International Airport Construction Company on September 21.
During the meeting, representatives of the development company stated that preparations are being made for the completion of the construction of the airport on October. They also stated that preparations are also being made for the launch of tests on the operations of the airport on December 30. Khmer Times
