It will be attended by representatives of various participants in the initiative’s progress.

Prime Minister Hun Sen’s original reform package was announced at the 18th government-private sector forum in 2019 with its first phase launching on June 15, 2020.

A ministry announcement said the second phase expands the scope of the online application for licences or permits based on business activities, with specialised ministries in charge of sector-based technical supervision.

The ministries and institutions participating in the second phase include the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Real Estate Business and the Pawnshop Regulator of the Non-Bank Financial Services Authority.

A total of 6,974 business applications were made during the first phase, with 6,164 applications approved. Those approved represented investment of $2.631 billion.

The system is designed to facilitate and encourage business registration for all companies and to support companies registering with access to credit from a government special fund.

The new system minimises the complex procedures, repetition of information, lost time lost and costs incurred of the old process. All registrations are automatically shared with relevant ministries and institutions for review and approval.
