Cambodia to Host 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings Next Year

Cambodia will host the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings in 2022, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued after the first day of 54th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (54th AMM) and Related Meetings yesterday.

During the 54th virtual AMM, Mr. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stressed the importance of ensuring sustainable economic recovery and growth for the region, including through the materialisation of the ASEAN Travel Corridor Arrangement Framework and operationalisation of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergency and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED).

Mr. Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the importance of ensuring that ASEAN’s engagements with external partners is supportive of ASEAN Centrality and in line with ASEAN principles, including under the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP).
