After several days of high number of COVID-19 positive cases and a couple of deaths, today saw just 40 positive cases reported in the capital and six other provinces. 36 of the new cases were Cambodians and the remaining were Chinese nationals.

Phnom Peng registered the highest number of cases with 29, all Cambodians, found in Russey Keo, Boeung Keng Kang, Por Sen Chey and Meanchey districts.

Other cases were in:

  • Koh Kong with six cases, comprising all Chinese nationals;
  • Svay Rieng with one single Cambodian infected;
  • Siem Reap with one positive case;
  • Tboung Khmum, also with one case;
  • Takeo with one case and
  • Kampot also with a single positive case.

Six recoveries were also announced.

With these numbers, Cambodia has registered a total of 2,273 COVID-19 positive cases, of which 1,172 were successfully treated and 11 fatalities announced, including one today.
