HR Asia has recognised 19 Cambodian employers on its annual list of best companies to work for in Asia.

Among the companies selected for inclusion are Cambrew, Canadia Bank, EZECOM, J Trust Royal Bank, the Royal Group of Companies and Wing.

Companies selected for the honour were chosen from a list of firms that took part in an HR Asia survey conducted between July and October 2020. The survey covered 11 markets across the continent.

The recognition of so many Cambodian employers is significant in that the competition’s surveyed companies included numerous global brands and companies operating in Asia. The strong contingent of employers in the Kingdom among the honoured is a clear indicator that the level of employee engagement and workplace practices in Cambodia are now among the best in Asia.

William Ng, group publisher of Business Media International, the publishers of HR Asia, said: “2020 was an extraordinary year for companies across Cambodia. These 19 winners have continued to show they care for their employees, despite the challenges [of 2020]. They recognise that talents are the cornerstone of every company. We expect to see even more recipients from Cambodia in 2021 – as more and more employers see the value of employer branding and the providing of a world-class work environment for their employees.

Neak Oknha Kith Meng, chairman of the Royal Group, responded to the recognition by saying: “We are very honoured to be recognised as a winner of HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2020. I dedicate this award to [the] close to 5,000 members of our Royal Group Family and congratulate our operating companies receiving recognition along with us, Cellcard, Ezecom, J Trust Royal and Wing.”

Sheanghai Lao, human resources director at Wing (Cambodia), said of the award: “At the end of the day, our employees remain as the pillars of strength of our company and the foundation to our continued success. Wing has always been committed to providing employees with the best experience through empathy, nurturing talent and rewarding employees with opportunities that result in benefits for themselves, the business and the broader community.”

The head of human resources at CIMB bank, Oum Chenda Pheakdey, noted: “CIMB Bank is honoured to receive [this] recognition for our progressive HR policies and initiatives. [It reflects] our strong commitment in building a positive working environment, developing and growing talents as well as providing competitive employee benefits since our inception in 2010.” Khmer Times
