More than 900,000 tonnes of Cambodian mangos exported in 2020
Cambodia exported 957,680 tonnes of fresh mangoes to international markets in 2020, according to a report of the General Department of Agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).
The figure showed a remarkable increase compared with about 58,000 tonnes of mangoes exported in 2019.
Of the total amount, 107,680 tonnes of exported mangoes were certified with sanitary and phytosanitary standards.
As of 2020, the mango growing covered a total of 124, 319 hectares of land surface throughout the country.
Mangoes were harvested from the 91,398 hectares of the total area, with an average of 16 tonnes of the fruits per hectare.
In Jan. 2021 alone nearly 300,000 tonnes of mangoes were exported including 11,638 tonnes certified with sanitary and phytosanitary standards.
Cambodia so far exported mangoes to China, France, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Japan. Lim Nary – AKP
