The Royal Government of Cambodia has announced to inscribe two more areas in Kampot province on the natural heritage list, according to a sub-decree released yesterday.

With a total land area of 83.44 hectares in Dang Tong and Banteay Meas districts, the newly-listed natural heritage sites are Phnom Totong and Phnom Toch.

The establishment of these natural heritage sites is aimed to ensure the environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, stressed the sub-decree.

The new natural heritage sites will be under the management of the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with relevant ministries and institutions, the provincial administration, and the armed forces, added the same source.

In a separate sub-decree, the Royal Government also decided to list Phnom Preah Kuhear Luong (Luong cave) of 25 hectares in Touk Meas Khang Lech communce of Banteay Meas district, Kampot province as a natural heritage site. AKP
