Cambodia, Laos Look At Possible Opening Of Border Gate In Ratanakkiri Province

AKP: Cambodia-Laos is studying the process of opening an international border gate in Ratanakkiri province. This was informed by H.E Mr. Thong Savun, Governor of Ratanakkiri Province, on Monday this week.

At a press conference on “Progress and Continuation of Ratanakkiri Provincial Administration” organized by the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, H.E Mr. Thong Savun claimed that so far Ratanakkiri has no roads or border crossings with Laos and the province is asking the Royal Government to open this gate.

Mr. Thong Savun has not yet given the exact location of the bilateral border gates in Ratanakkiri province.

The governor of Ratanakkiri province also expressed high expectations when the bilateral border gate opened, as Ratanakkiri is a province with the potential for cultivation, especially agro-industrial crops and animal husbandry. As of 2019, a total area of ​​168,543 hectares has been covered with different varieties of crops.
