Royal Group Cambodia Chairman generously donates $500,000 to Cambodian Red Cross
Royal Group Cambodia Chairman, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, and his wife Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan (Chief Operating Officer of Wing Cambodia), today donated $500,000 to the Cambodian Red Cross to celebrate the 157th Anniversary of the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, to be celebrated on 8th of May, 2020.
Cambodian Red Cross President, Samdech Kittipritbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, expressed her sincere gratitude by awarding a certificate of appreciation to the Royal Group Cambodia to mark the date. She also thanked the Chairman and his wife for their continued compassion and great support of the Cambodian nation.
It has been a welcome tradition for the RGC Chairman Neak Oknha Kith Meng, to annually pledge cash donations every May 8th to the Cambodian Red Cross to support their generous and essential work in Cambodia.
The Chairman’s generous act was a perfect fit for the theme of this year’s Red Cross anniversary “I Love Peace and Cambodian Red Cross.”
“We fully understand that as a Cambodian-owned group of companies and being proudly Khmer, we must ensure that we continue to support these worthy and fantastic organisations like the Cambodian Red Cross during these difficult times,” said Neak Oknha Kith Meng.
The Royal Group Chairman had previously donated $500,000 to the Royal Cambodian Government to help deal with COVID-19 last month. It is another strong symbol of the importance of the Royal Group working closely together with the government to keep Cambodia safe and moving forward.
That donation made by Neak Oknha Kith Meng and wife Lok Chumteav Mao Chamnan was officially recognised by the Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in a personal letter of gratitude.
In 2019, Neak Oknha Kith Meng also donated $100,000 to help victims in the collapse of a seven-story building in Kep and provided $3 million for the modernisation project of Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh.
