The total exports of Cambodia remain strong despite the global economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country’s total exports in the first nine months of this year were valued at US$13.2 billion, up 19 percent compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The main markets of Cambodian products are the European Union, the U.S., Japan, Thailand, China, and Vietnam.

From January to September this year, Cambodia exported US$4,828 million worth of products to the U.S., a year-on-year increase of 22 percent.

Meanwhile, some US$1,208 million Cambodian products were exported to Japan, a decline of 5.6 percent from the figures in the first three quarters of 2019.

Exports to Thailand were valued at US$958 million, sliding down 48 percent during the same period.

Last year, the Kingdom exported US$14.53 billion (59.2 trillion Riel) worth of products, a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent.\
