Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said that the kingdom has sufficient essentials such as medical supplies and food to battle the COVID-19 (coronavirus) spread.

“A large amount of medical supplies including medications has already been put in our warehouses,” he wrote on his official Facebook page.

“In addition to the stockpile of medical supplies and medicines, we also have a full stock of rice, salt, and another foodstuff… to ensure that our citizens still have enough rice and food supplies to eat, no matter whatever the situation is,” he added.

Hun Sen said besides imported medical items, the country has its own factories which can produce about 1.2 million face masks, a factory that can make more than 5,000 liters of alcohol, and two factories that can manufacture medical materials such as suits and hats.

Meanwhile, the prime minister called on people to be confident in the measures taken by the government against the virus and reminded them to wear masks, to frequently wash hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizers, and to contact a 115 hotline if they have any suspicious symptoms of the virus.

The South-East Asian nation has recorded a total of 114 confirmed cases of the virus to date, with 35 patients cured, according to a Ministry of Health statement on Friday. The Star
