Cambodia has temporarily closed its border with Vietnam to avert the spread of Covid-19
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia issued a letter to the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia on March 19, 2020, confirming the temporary closure of the border. The implementation of this measure shall be effective from 23:59 pm on March 20, 2020.
The measure was stated by the head of the Royal Government of Cambodia in a telegram to facilitate Vietnamese people from entering the country and to be quarantined by the Vietnamese government for 14 days while the Vietnamese government itself announced its closure of the border with Cambodia as well, and not allowing Vietnamese people to come to Cambodia is not a measure of revenge.
