Cambodia, Tajikistan to Continue Strengthening and Expanding Bilateral Cooperation
Cambodia and Tajikistan have discussed several potential areas for further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in clean energy, agriculture, and education.
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet met with H.E. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, this morning (Nice time) in Nice, France, on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
During the meeting, the two leaders invited each other to pay official visits to their respective countries at a mutually convenient time. They also tasked their respective foreign ministers with continuing efforts to deepen bilateral ties, explore new opportunities for cooperation, and coordinate future high-level visits.
H.E. Emomali Rahmon recalled the 2019 visit of Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen to Tajikistan and highlighted his country’s potential in various sectors, especially in energy. He highlighted Tajikistan’s goal of achieving 100 percent clean energy usage by 2038.
The Tajik President also recognised Cambodia’s strengths in agriculture, noting the country’s ability to meet domestic food needs and maintain a surplus for export. He expressed strong confidence that, under the long-term visionary leadership of Samdech Thipadei, bilateral relations between Cambodia and Tajikistan would continue to grow for the mutual benefit of both nations.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet emphasised that the bilateral meeting was a valuable opportunity to explore cooperation in key areas. He conveyed greetings from Samdech Techo Hun Sen to President Rahmon and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening and expanding the relationship between the two countries, noting the significant untapped potential for collaboration.
