A hydroponic farm in Kampong Chhnang saw customer satisfaction and support grow for its organic crops. This another sign of changes in the country’s agricultural practices.

Eden Hydroponic Farm located in Chrey Bak commune, Rolea Bier District, has garnered support from customers for its organic and pesticide free vegetables. The owner of the farm, Chap Vibol, confirmed that all the crops grown in the farm is fertilized using natural fertilizers. The farm also practices animal and environment friendly methods.

The farm, established on 2019, has seen an increase in demand for its produce. Despite rising business, the farm is lacking in farmers and workers to grow and tend to its crops. Vibol is looking forward to being able to expand his farm to cover more than 3 hectares and secure steady chain of supply to meet demands.

The hydroponic method is one of the options in agriculture that the country has started to invest in. Cambodia is searching for newer and more climate-friendly farming practices. The Ministry of Agriculture is encouraging farmers to use alternate farming methods to increase crop yields and quality, as well as participate in climate conservation and sustainability.
