Three Mother Nature Movement Activists Confess their Crimes

Three activists of Mother Nature Organization have admitted that they had indeed acted under the banner of Mother Nature with the aims to overthrow the Royal Government, according to a press release of the Ministry of Interior dated Wednesday.

1. Mother Nature was dissolved from the list of NGOs on 15 September 2017. Due to the above reason, Mother Nature does not exist and no longer has the legal capacity to carry out its work in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
2. Alexandro Gonzalez Davidson, a Spanish man behind Mother Nature and was deported from the Kingdom of Cambodia on 23 February 2015, continues to operate from abroad to maintain his strength. On 14 May 2021, Alex led a meeting with three of its activists, during which they used insulting words against the king and the head of the Royal Government. These actions intend to incite for national division, which violates the Cambodia’s Constitution, causing social insecurity and affecting national stability. For these reasons, the competent authorities shall take action in accordance with the law in force.
3. Based on the video clip evidence that the authorities obtained, it is clear that this illegal network under the banner of the NGO is not for the cause of environment protection. On the contrary, they are full of evil intentions, inciting violence, mobilizing insurgents, and creating chaos in the country. The three suspects also admitted that they had indeed acted under the banner of Mother Nature to revolt and overthrow the Royal Government, using means contrary to the principles of democracy and liberal pluralism, enshrined in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
