Australia Provides Over US$900,000 Grant For Cambodia’s Off-Grid Electrification Project
Australian government has provided a grant to Cambodia for the development of off-grid electrification project.
The minutes of meeting (MoM) on the project was signed here on June 9 in the presence of H.E. Ty Norin, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Mines and Energy and H.E. Luke Arnold, Australian Charge d’Affaires.
The grant worth 1.2 million Australian dollars (approximately US$920,000) will be used to carry out the project for a two-year period starting from the signing date onward.
H.E. Ty Norin said on Thursday that Australia’s grant will contribute with Royal Government’s efforts to electrifying the villages nationwide.
“The off-grid electrification project will equip households in remote areas with solar PV,” he said.
According to H.E. Secretary of State, 97 percent of the total villages of 14,168 nationwide have been electrified. AKP
