Cambodia’s February 20 Community Event soars to 425 with 23 new cases; tally now 932
The February 20 Community Event infection does not appear to slow down with 23 new cases reported today by the authority.
The Ministry of Health this morning confirmed 23 new cases, all linked to the community incident. Among these, 15 were detected in Phnom Penh, including 6 Chinese and 9 Cambodians.
Meanwhile, the ministry reported 5 cases in Sihanoukville, including 4 Chinese and one Cambodian.
Three other cases confirmed today are a 40-year-old Chinese man and a 46-year-old Singaporean man who tested positive in Koh Kong, and a 44-year-old Indonesian residing in Kandal.
The new cases caused the number of cases linked to the February 20 Community Event to jump to 425.
Cambodia’s total of 932 cases comprise: 420 Cambodians, 340 Chinese, 45 French, 24 Indonesians, 11 Malaysians, 12 Americans, 30 Vietnamese, 6 British, 5 Indians, 3 Canadians, 2 Hungarians, 2 Pakistanis, 3 Japanese, 2 Nigerians, 1 Belgian, 1 Kazakhstani, 1 Polish, 1 Jordanian, 1 Swiss, 1 Czech, and 2 Koreans, 2 Singaporean.
The Health Ministry also reported 4 recoveries today, 2 of which are related to the community event, making the country’s total recoveries to slightly increase to 489 (52.46 percent). Khmer Times
