Cambodia to join Dubai Expo in October 2021
The Ministry of Commerce has said that Cambodia plans to join in the Dubai Expo, the global mega- event to launch in the United Arabic Emirates in October 2021.
The plan for attending the Dubai Expo was discussed in a meeting held Friday chaired by Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce and attended by representatives from relevant ministries and the private sector.
The meeting was held to discuss the update to the inter-ministry committee on the works implemented since Cambodia’s 2016 confirmation that it would present a pavilion at the 2020 Dubai Expo, Sorasak said.
The Dubai Expo 2020 was postponed due to the impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic.
According to the organizers, the Dubai Expo will run from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
For the upcoming event, Cambodia plans to prepare a 385 square meter national pavilion.
Cambodia will benefit from the global exposure at the Dubai Expo said Lim Heng, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC).
“It is a good move because it will help Cambodia to showcase to the world and attract more investment and increase trade activities,” Heng told Khmer Times on Sunday.
CCC encouraged the establishment of trade liaisons in the Arab countries to promote potential trade with and investment in Cambodia, Heng said. Khmer Times
