Cambodia-Thailand Bilateral Trade Ups 18.3% in The First Four Months
The two-way trade between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand was recorded at US$3.1 billion in the first four months of this year, up 18.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to a report of the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh last week, from January to April 2020, Cambodia has exported US$ 687 million worth of goods to Thailand, an increase by 106 percent.
Cambodia’s main products shipped to Thailand included gems and jewelry (US$ 345 million), aluminum products (US$ 45 million) and agricultural products (US$ 173 million), the report pointed out.
At the same time, it added, Cambodia’s imports from Thailand rose by 5.6 percent to US$ 2.4 billion. The major imported Thai products were fuel (US$ 430 million), vehicles (US$ 312 million) and gems and jewelry (US$ 220 million).
Last year, the trade exchange between the two countries reached over US$ 9.41 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent while both governments have targeted to increase the volume to US$15 billion in 2020.
