16 tons of medical supplies given to Defense Ministry
The National Defense Ministry of Cambodia on Saturday received 16 tons of medical supplies from China’s Ministry of National Defense. The donation is aimed to help the Kingdom curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The anti-epidemic material arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport this morning for the handover ceremony to Cambodia.
Nem Sowath, advisor and director of cabinet said, “It is a great cooperation between Cambodian and China to improve military medical skills to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.”
According to Mr. Sowath, it is the third time that China has sent their military doctors and medical supplies to Cambodia to fight Covid-19. He added that the 16 tons of supplies contain 11 types of medical supplies including medical beds.
Military attache of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Senior Colonel Li Jingfeng, said that Cambodia and China are committed to building strong bilateral relationship and support each other despite the pandemic hitting the country.
He added that the Covid-19 situation in China is now under control. Meanwhile, the Chinese government has started their mission to assist other countries to defeat the virus.
“National Defense of China and the Defense Ministry of Cambodia have been working well together to curb the spread of Covid-19. We believe that we can beat the Covid-19 soon,” said Mr. Li.
He added, “please have faith in China, as long as Covid-19 is still here, donations from China will continue.”
