Kingdom to Announce 5 Cases Recovered, 1 New Case, Tally to 115
The three consecutive days of no COVID-19 positive victims were shattered today when a 27-year-old Vietnamese woman was tested positive for the deadly virus.
This new case brings the tally to 115.
Five new cases of recovery and discharge were also reported today. All of the recovered were Cambodians in Siem, Banteay Meanchey, Poipet, Phnom Penh, and Kompong Chhnang.
A Ministry of Health statement said that the Vietnamese woman was tested positive and is currently admitted to the Khmer Soviet Friendship hospital for treatment.
She was in quarantine in the hospital before being tested positive.
She had traveled to the capital from Bavet city to Vietnam on March 2 and returned to Cambodia on March 10.
She was living with her Chinese boyfriend who had left Cambodia on April 3.
Efforts at contact tracing of those who had been in proximity with the woman and her boyfriend are ongoing to prevent another cluster infection.
