12 confirmed new cases of Covid-19 this morning
March 17, 2020, the Ministry of Health issued a press release on “the discovery of 11 new cases of Cambodian Muslims returning from religious service in Malaysia and One Cambodian returns from Thailand tested positive for Covid-19.
The 12 new cases are:
1. Banteay Meanchey Province: 2 cases
A Cambodian Muslim is a positive Kov 19 in Sisophon
A Cambodian man from Thailand in Prey Russey village, Sisophon, tested positive for the HIV virus 19
The two men have already been admitted to a hospital in Banteay Meanchey province.
2. In Phnom Penh: 2 cases
Two Cambodian Muslims (63 years old and one 64 years old) at Prek Pra tested positive for the HIV-positive virus, which was being treated at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital.
3. In Kampong Chhnang: 2 cases
Two Cambodian Muslims (75 years old and one 28 years old) have tested positive for the HIV-positive Kovirus 19, which is being treated at Kompong Chhnang Hospital.
4. In Battambang: 4 cases
Four Cambodian Muslims (38 to 28 years old) tested positive for HIV 19, and 19 positive HIV positive specimens were treated at a Battambang hospital.
6. In Kampot: 1 case
A Cambodian Muslim (30 years old) tested positive for Kovid 19, a positive test of HIV positive 19, who was admitted to a Kep hospital as a translator for Malay to work in Kep.
7. In Tbong Khmum: 1 case
Four Cambodian Muslims (age 61) tested positive for the HIV-positive 19 HIV positive test positive at the provincial hospital in Ponhea Krek province.
Note: These 11 Muslim men are among the 79 returned from religious service in Malaysia.
