PM Hun Sen Plans to Host Reception for the Westerdam Passengers

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen has expressed his intention to host a reception for the passengers on the Westerdam Cruise Ship to show Cambodia’s true love, warm hospitality and a humanitarian heart.

According to a Facebook post last evening, Mr Hun Sen shared his intention while presiding over here the annual meeting of the Cambodian National Council for Women.

The Prime Minister will also invite relevant foreign diplomats accredited to Cambodia to attend the reception.

After thorough health checking on all passengers, the Royal Government of Cambodia has permitted some 500 passengers to stay temporary at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel awaiting their flights back home.

At the same time, he also suggested the municipal authorities cooperate with the Ministry of Health and other concerned institutions to prepare transportation for now stranded passengers for sightseeing in the capital city better to let them stay bored in the hotel room.

The Cambodian leader added that if any nation whose citizens were on the ship does not care, Cambodia will look after them until they can return to their respective homeland.
