GMAC: The Letter is Disappointing and Counter-Factual
GMAC, Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia, issued a statement on 28th January reacted to the January 22, 2020 letter which it said follows similar letters in May 2019 and November 2018 and found it disappointing and counter-factual.
The January 22, 2020 letter is focused on “the Labor Situation” in Cambodia, including a list of the suggested amendment of the Cambodian Trade Union Law allegedly necessary to “bring Cambodia inline with the international standards”, and a stated “the credibility of Cambodia’s apparel, footwear, and travel goods sectors”.
