Health Ministry: Further quarantine spaces prepared for increasing arrivals
The Ministry of Health has said that Cambodia has prepared four centers for Cambodian arrivals and a further 10 hotels for foreign arrivals in Phnom Penh to service the increasing numbers of foreigners arriving in the Kingdom, as Cambodia expects to begin receiving around 500 arrivals per day.
Health ministry secretary of state Youk Sambath said the four current quarantine facilities are in Chumpu Voan High School, the Chak Angre Krom Health Centre, the Royal Air Force, and Samdech Techno’s School in Pochentong. She said the centers have a capacity for 700 people.
The ministry has also prepared 10 hotels in Phnom Penh, with the larger five-star hotels having 400 to 500 beds each, especially for foreigners who are required to pay the deposit, she added.
“I would like to thank all the hotel owners for their cooperation with the government,” she said.
“We want to remind people that everyone who arrives and goes into quarantine isn’t positive of the virus. These are the safety precautions we are taking to stop the spread of the virus in Cambodia. So let’s not be confused.”
“We have doctors at all the hotels working in collaboration with local authorities to keep people safe.” Khmer Times
