Donations given to Mine Authorities
The Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation has handed foodstuffs and protective equipment to Cambodian Mine Action Authorities in light of Covid-19 pandemic.
The donation was given by the foundation to Cambodian Mine Action Authorities and HALO trust.
The donation took place at the Cambodian Mine Action Authorities, presided by Ly Thuch, first vice president of Cambodia Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authorities, Lasha Lomidze, country director of HALO Trust, and other officials.
“The virus has affected the well-being of the country, people’s livelihood, and the social security system. It requires us to do everything not only to protect ourselves and our families but also for vulnerable people in our community,” said Buth Rothana, country director of Sir Boddy Charlton foundation.
According to Ms. Rothana, the donation is for Cambodian Mine Action Authorities and HALO trust foundation for a three-month project which includes, providing foodstuff to impacted families in Pursat province, making medical masks, and the development of ventilators to the Ministry of Health.
In addition, the project also includes raising awareness about Covid-19 and the impact of mines.
