The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the public as well as members of national and international media that: on the morning of January 15, 2026, the Secretariat of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) Cambodia–Thailand, between Military Region 4 of the Cambodian side and Army Area 2 of the Thai side, held a meeting at the Choam-Sa Ngam International Point of Entry, Anlong Veng District, Oddar Meanchey Province.

The Cambodian Secretariat was led by Brigadier General Nit Narong, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4, while the Thai Secretariat was led by Major General Kampanat Waphansu, Chief of Staff of Army Area 2. Both sides held discussions on a number of important matters concerning the strengthening of the implementation of the contents of the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) held on December 27, 2025, as well as other relevant documents.

The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to reaffirm our firm, resolute, and sincere commitment to faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) dated December 27, 2025; the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated October 26, 2025; and other relevant documents, with the aim of seeking a peaceful, just, and lasting solution in accordance with international laws, as well as existing treaties and agreements between the two countries.

The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
