On the morning of 2 October 2025, at the Peace Palace, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Parliamentary Federation for World Peace (PFWP) of the Malaysian Parliament, led by His Excellency Dr. Mohd Hatta, a member of the Malaysian Senate.
During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Mohd Hatta expressed his profound gratitude to Samdech Borvor Thipadei for taking time from his busy schedule to receive him and the delegation. He expressed his delight in leading the Malaysian parliamentary delegation on a visit to Cambodia and commended the country’s progress. He also thanked the Cambodian parliamentary delegation for recent participation in the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Malaysia. His Excellency expressed his confidence that this visit would contribute to strengthening relations between the parliaments of the two countries and further deepening Malaysia–Cambodia bilateral relations.
In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei warmly welcomed His Excellency Dr Mohd Hatta and the Malaysian parliamentary delegation. He expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress of Cambodia–Malaysia relations and co-operation across many key sectors, including legislative co-operation. He highlighted that frequent exchanges of visits between the executive and legislative branches of the two countries are a crucial factor in promoting, strengthening, and expanding bilateral relations។
Samdech Borvor Thipadei and His Excellency Dr Mohd Hatta also discussed bilateral co-operation in a number of important areas, including politics, trade and economy, national defence, and people-to-people exchanges.
On that occasion, Samdech Borvor Thipadei conveyed his profound gratitude to His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for facilitating the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, as well as for Malaysia’s role in co-ordinating and leading the Interim Observer Team (IOT) to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
