Cambodian Defence Ministry Denies False Reports of Troop Mobilization

Phnom Penh, September 26, 2025 – The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia has firmly rejected claims circulating on Thai social media platforms and news outlets alleging that Cambodia has mobilized troops and weapons along the border.

Her Excellency Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, issued a statement clarifying that the reports, accompanied by several images, are completely untrue.

According to the statement, the images published are old photographs and not taken on September 26, as alleged. The Ministry stressed that the Cambodian Armed Forces have not engaged in any provocative actions or activities that would violate the ceasefire agreement currently in place between Cambodia and Thailand.

“The Cambodian Armed Forces reaffirm their strong commitment to fully respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement, while maintaining close cooperation at all levels to promote peace, stability, and the swift restoration of normalcy between the two countries,” the Ministry stated.
