Cambodia pledges to work with new French Prime Minister, particularly on hosting the Francophonie Summit in 2026
Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended his congratulations to H.E. Sébastien Lecornu, who has recently been appointed as Prime Minister of the French Republic.
According to the congratulatory letter dated 14 September 2025, Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia’s strong commitment to working closely with France to inject new momentum into the Cambodia–France Strategic Partnership. He also stressed the importance of joint efforts in preparing for major upcoming events, in particular the Francophonie Summit to be held in Cambodia in 2026.
The letter further expressed Prime Minister Hun Manet’s hope that Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu will have the opportunity to pay an official visit to Cambodia in the future.
