Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has reiterated that the responsibility for resolving the unilateral border closure lies with Thailand.

“If you [Thailand] closed the border unilaterally, then just reopen it unilaterally—Cambodia will follow within five hours,” he said while presiding over the closing ceremony of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) Central Committee Meeting in Siem Reap province this morning.

“You can act at any time—the ball is in your court. Cambodia has opened the goal for you,” he added.

The Prime Minister stressed that Cambodia will not reopen its border unless Thailand restores full operations at all shared border crossings to the conditions in place before June 7, 2025.

He further emphasised that if the border remains closed, no formal negotiations will take place—including through the Joint Border Commission (JBC) or the Regional Border Commission (RBC).
