Philippine Firm Seeks to Import Cambodia’s Rice
Arvin International Marketing INC, a leading firm in the Philippines, has sought to export milled rice from Cambodia to supply the Philippines’ market.
The intention was made known by its President Mrs. Azucena L. Yao at a working breakfast on Feb. 11 in Manila, the Philippines with H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Cambodian Minister of Commerce.
Mrs. Azucena L. Yao revealed her company’s interest in importing rice from Cambodia, noting that Cambodian milled rice is of high quality and has been ranked the World’s Best Rice for six times.
For her part, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul expressed her satisfaction with the company’s interest and urged relevant parties to increase cooperation in promoting the export of agricultural products, especially paddy rice and milled rice.
H.E. Minister also briefed her guest on the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policies and measures to support the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors, encouraging companies to import rice from Cambodia, especially premium rice and other types of rice, as well as invest in a number of additional agro-industrial goods that can meet the needs of the agricultural production chain, including cashews and cassava.

Cambodia exported a total of 651,522 tonnes of milled rice in 2024, generating US$491.19 million in revenue, according to a report from the Cambodia Rice Federation.
Of the amount, some 127,076 tonnes were shipped to ASEAN member countries including the Philippines, generating US$92.70 million.
