PM Hun Sen Thanks Japan for Continued Support on Myanmar’s Official Visit
Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked Japan for maintaining its stance to support his official visit to Myanmar in early January.
“I’d like to thank Japan for continuing to support my recent visit to Myanmar. It is a key political message to deal with violence and chaos in Myanmar,” Mr Hun Sen said at the inauguration ceremony of seven bridges, held in Kratie this morning.
Besides, the Premier reacted against some critics accusing him of undermining ASEAN with ‘cowboy diplomacy’ on Myanmar trip, asking if anyone has died due to his visit to Myanmar.
Anyway, Prime Minister Hun Sen reaffirmed that he will not give up his efforts to solve the Myanmar crisis.
The Prime Minister paid a visit to the Union of Myanmar on January 7 to January 8 at the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
In the meeting, both leaders discussed the strengthening of Cambodia-Myanmar relations and cooperation as well as ways for a better cooperation and solidarity of ASEAN. AKP
