Major Business-Related Events Coming Back to Cambodia

Cambodia was on its way to becoming a go-to destination for international business conferences, before the COVID-19 pandemic put a sudden halt.

More than 10 major business-related events slated to be held in Cambodia from March to August 2020 were cancelled or moved to another date because of the pandemic, according to local media reports.

These include the International Conference on Management and Information Technology, International Conference on Medical and Biosciences, International CSR & Sustainability Summit, Logistic Leads Network Conference and HMP Worldwide, a major medical and pharmaceutical fair.

In the past, Cambodia hosted the ASEAN Ports and Shipping Summit, Mekong Gaming Summit, Cambodia Phar-Med, Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition, Cyber Security Asia Conference, among other events.

For more than a year, Cambodia, like many other countries in Southeast Asia, hosted only a few of these gatherings. Subsequent lockdowns only worsened the situation.

The Kingdom’s decision to re-open, starting November 1, apparently sparked a turnaround for the better.

Cambodia will once again see many of these events.

According to the global events platform 10Times, Cambodia will host more than 20 major business events from Dec 2021 to Oct 22.

First among them is the Cambodia International Construction Industry Expo (CAMEXPO), which is scheduled to be held in Phnom Penh from Dec 2 to 4.

“This will showcase products like construction based equipment, property based products, architectural products, and that of constructional services and products associated with this field,” the 10Times website noted.

The International Conference on Advances in Business Management and Information Technology (ICABMIT), meanwhile, is going to be held from Dec 4 to 5 at the High Sky Hotel in Phnom Penh.

A regional tourism conference, the ASEAN Tourism Forum, will be held from Jan 16 to 22, 2022 at the Sokha Beach Resort in Sihanoukville.

Another tourism-related gathering, the Cambodia International Attractions Conference, is going to be held from Apr 20 to 22, 2022 at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Phnom Penh.

Oil Gas Cambodia (OGAC) will be staged at the same venue from Apr 21 to 22, 2022, according to 10Times.

The other events on the list are Asia Gaming Expo Cambodia (AGE Cambodia), Asia Pacific LPG Expo, International Conference on Pharma and Food (ICPAF), Cambodia Architect & Decor Expo (CAD), Cambodia International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition (CTG), CamBuild, Cambodia Hardware Expo, CamHotel and CamFood.
