PM Hun Sen issues tougher measures to stem the spread of the new Delta variant

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia has also been affected by the new Alpha variant, which has infected and killed several thousands of people in Cambodia.

He added that the most frightening and highly contagious virus is the Delta variant, which originated in India.

To prevent further outbreaks in the communities, PM Hun Sen issued five measures to curb the third wave of the February 20 community event, especially through air and waterway arrivals.

He also ordered all authorities at the borders to close the entry and exit points at the border between Vietnam and Thailand so that Vietnamese immigrants are prevented from entering and leaving Cambodia and Cambodians can not enter Vietnam.

PM Hun Sen also ordered border officials to conduct rapid tests on returning migrant workers at all border crossings in Cambodia, noting that sample tests by PCR machines have already been deployed at the border. Khmer Times
