Prak Sokhonn: Peace Document Marks New Chapter in Cambodia–Thailand Relations
Phnom Penh, October 18, 2025 — His Excellency Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasized that the recently adopted peace document marks a historic milestone in strengthening ties between Cambodia and Thailand.
Delivering his remarks upon arrival at Techo International Airport on October 18, 2025, His Excellency underlined the significance of the agreement as a foundation for rebuilding trust and fostering mutual understanding between the two neighboring nations.
“This peace document will serve as a source of strength in leading Cambodia and Thailand toward the restoration of normal relations—both between the two countries and between their peoples. It also represents a path toward cooperation and peaceful coexistence between neighbors, creating opportunities for our two nations to live together in peace and prosperity,” he stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to peaceful dialogue and cooperation in accordance with international law and bilateral frameworks. He further expressed optimism that the spirit embodied in this document would pave the way for lasting peace, stability, and shared prosperity between the two nations and across the region.
